Pinkston Paddlesports Party

Saturday 1st June marked Pinkston’s 5th birthday – and what a way to celebrate!

We opened our doors to the public for a day of paddling and prizes – throughout the day we had a whopping 155 people sign up to take part in 263 sessions across rafting, kayaking, canoeing and SUP yoga.

“Thanks for such a brilliant day! First time here but will 100% be back. Absolutely loved it!” – Mark on Facebook

“Thanks to everyone involved, was a fab afternoon. Kids and I thoroughly enjoyed trying new things. Will definitely be getting booked into a few things soon!” – Louise on Facebook

The day wouldn’t have been possible without all of our fantastic, committed volunteers – so this #volunteersweek we wanted to say a huge thank you! The collaboration with our incredible partners was key to the success of the day, so another massive thanks to these guys:

  • Summit to Sea
  • Border Kayaks
  • North East Kayaks
  • Tiso
  • Outdoor Pursuits Scotland
  • Monklands Canoe Club
  • The Scottish Canoe Association
  • Pinkston Panthers
  • Clyde Scouts
  • Our friendly local Burger Van

The collaboration and community effort was a true personification of what Pinkston is all about and we look forward to many more years of paddling and parties to come!

Our Start Kayaking sessions are all about getting you on the water and experiencing the joys of kayaking in a safe and fun way. These adult sessions are for anyone over the age of 16 who want to get on the water and learn the basics of kayaking with basic skills and challenges. We use our great sit on top kayaks meaning that we have the best platform for learning skills without the challenges or fears of ‘getting stuck’.

This session includes your British Canoeing Paddle Start Certificate.
