About Us

Pinkston Watersports is home to Scotland’s only artificial whitewater course; a community paddlesports center with a clean water basin and the ideal place to participate in a range of water-based activities just 5 minutes from Glasgow City Centre.

As a charity and social enterprise, Pinkston uses a range of approaches to meet our charitable objectives of increasing participation in sport, providing recreational facilities, and organizing activities as a way of improving and promoting wellbeing, quality of life, and education.

As a visitor to Pinkston, you can book onto one of our own activities – which include everything from cold water swimming to whitewater tubing – with plenty of canoeing and kayaking in between. Alternatively, there are a number of clubs that use the site on a regular basis that provide an excellent way to meet new people in the sport.

5-Star Water Activities in Glasgow

A gem of a place

I went for an early morning swim after I finished my nightshift. As always the staff is brilliant and very pleasant. It was a balmy morning at -2° but it's great having a place to go for a swim when the pools are closed and you can't travel. I highly recommend people try Pinkston Watersports. You won't be disappointed.

Whitewater Tubing

We went white water tubing and it was so much fun! Granted, early November is maybe not the best time to be in the water but we were provided with wetsuits, a helmet and buoyancy aid and spent the next couple of hours going down the rapids on a tube. The instructors were enthusiastic and helpful, and I had a great time. Almost impossible to do without going in at least once so be prepared to get wet. Looking forward to doing it again!

Loved it!

We did a SUP taster session with Rowan and it was brilliant. Hired a wetsuit and buoyancy aid, there was no changing room with covid, but we knew that in advance. The lesson was great fun and we will definitely be back!

Kayaking lesson

My sons had a fantastic time kayaking at Pinkston, Hannah was so patient and made the lesson great fun - they’re looking forward to the 5 day progression course in the October week!
