Errrrrrrrrrrrrin's next up! She's relativity new to the role of Lead Instructor here at Pinkston Watersports, so this wee interview is a great chance to get to know her better...

Q. What is your motto?

A. "Be kind to gingers!"

Q. What is your earliest memory?

A. "Wearing a little blue (it was actually green) boiler suit in a scrap yard and my dad putting me through a car window to get a wire."

Q. Top 3 things you want to do in 2020?

A. "Loose the chub, find my wedding dress, and complete a Guinness world record. Easy."

Q. What is your dream job?

A. "Working for Make A Wish"

Q. What is your pet peeve?

A. "People changing plans last minute."

Q. Where do you want to travel / go on holiday next?

A. "Budapest."

Q. If you could have any 3 people from all of time (real or fictional) round at yours for tea…who would they be?

A. "Mrs Doubtfire, Cher, and Philip Schofield"

Q. Best gift you’ve ever received?

A. "Has to be when I came home from school to a Quad bike!"

Q. Favourite song right now and why?

A. "Show Me Love by Robin S … cos when it comes on in da club it’s my jam!"

Q. How do you spend a day off?

A. "Usually taking my wee granny & papa for lunch. Then a sesh with the girls."

A. "Would have to be 3 noses."

Vacancy:  Operations and Marketing Assistant

Pinkston is recruiting for an Operations and Marketing Assistant (Maternity Cover)

The main focus of this role is to promote a positive customer journey for those visiting and using the facility at Pinkston Watersports, as well as attracting new customers and marketing new and existing products and services.

You will be fun and friendly with a customer facing outlook and a passion for ensuring a high quality experience for all visitors.  You will also have a good understanding of customer engagement, and experience in generating sales and encouraging return custom.  

An active engagement and understanding of paddlesports would be beneficial, but isn't essential.  Pinkston is a close community of people with varied interests and motivations so engagement with this community and building an understanding of their different needs is also a key part of this role

An Interview with Colin

Colin is next up to be interviewed. He's currently on a 16hr instructor contract at Pinkston Watersports and is already smashing 2020!

Q. What is your life motto?

A. "DON'T PANIC!"

Q. What is your earliest memory?

A. "My great grandmother 'Old Maw' "

Q. What are the top 3 things you want to do in 2020?

A. "Get my coach award, keep steady hours at work, and keep up my CPD."

Q. What is your dream job?

A. "I would love to be a whisky taster."

Q. Any pet peeves?

A. "Rude people.....people who stare in particular."

Q. Where do you want to travel / go on holiday next?

A. "Australia."

Q. If you could invite anyone (real or fictional, alive or dead) to a dinner party at your house, who would you invite?

A. "Christopher Hitchens, Genghis Khan, and Julius Caesar."

Q. What is the best gift you have ever received?

A. "The gift of life.......lol"

Q. What is your favourite song right now and why?

A. "Too Old to Die Young by Brother Dege - it speaks to me...and its energy is great."

An Interview with Fraser

I'm sure by now all of our regular site users know Fraser....but how much do you really know him?

For those of you who don't know him, or want to know him better, below is a fun interview with the man himself! 

We will be interviewing all the staff over the next few weeks so keep your eyes peeled! 

Q. What is your life motto?

A. "Improvise, adapt and overcome"

Q. What is your earliest memory?

A. "Driving around a hospital in a wee car you sit in when I was 5 (I realised when I was older I wasn’t driving the car, in fact it was my mum pushing it!)."

Q. What are the top 3 things you want to do in 2020?

A. "Go on holiday, teach my puppy Buzz to paddle board and have a shot on a giant paddle board"

Q. What is your dream job?

A. "To run an outdoor centre where I choose the activities we run."

Q. Any pet peeves?

A. "Paper plates at buffets"

Q. Where do you want to travel / go on holiday next?

A. "America."

Q. If you could invite anyone (real or fictional, alive or dead) to a dinner party at your house, who would you invite?

A. "Tom Holland (Spider-Man), Paul Rudd (Ant-man) and Tom Hanks (favourite actor). I'm a big film fan."

Q. What is the best gift you have ever received? 

A. "Bose sunglasses that had speakers in the frames."

Q. What is your favourite song right now and why?

A. You and Me Together Song - The 1975 or Ready For More - Sea Girls. When I hear a song for the first time, I play the ones I like on repeat

A. "Feet for hands so I can run like an animal. Haha"
